    Keyword Relevancy

    Hi Guys

Purchased WT Blueprint recently, have been over keyword relevancy and have gone through MS keyword training

    Background:

We have a website that was created by a third party. The website has not done any good so Ive decided to follow your blueprint and take the info and apply it or try to apply it to our website

The page is on page 4 of google for the phrase skin protection

The keywords that are contained in the web page are listed at the end of this ticket

You mention theme and relevancy as very important

    Here's my 3 questions :

    1) As the title description is Skin Protection
and 11 of the keyword phrases on the page are only possibly semantic as mentioned in MS,
is it ok to write articles on these keywords straight away or just concentrate on the derivative phrases first?

    2) Should the web page be rewriiten to incorporate derivative keywords from the Title keyword to provide better relevancy

    and /or

    3) Can I write articles on any topic related (broad or narrow) to the skin protection industry and have the backlinks from the articles + the use of Web 2.0 to provide/build up the relevancy of the page for google even though the linked keyword phrase in the article is not mentioned on the web page
    or

    4) Add/Create a blog and create posts with relevant derivative/thematic keywords

If I have totally made a hash of explaining all this
Can I make an appointment to skype you guys to clear up my pressing questions that are holding me up. If so what would the cost be to have a chat

    Many thanks

    Hiya Nige,

    Let's hop in, in order...

    1) As the title description is Skin Protection
and 11 of the keyword phrases on the page are only possibly semantic as mentioned in MS,
is it ok to write articles on these keywords straight away or just concentrate on the derivative phrases first?
There isn't any reason to wait on creating a keyword targeted post. If the competition is too strong for a particular keyword, you can right the article anyways, and then pick up the less competitive keywords with other articles and using those keyword as anchor text. Doing that will help your site for the main keyword. One word of caution though, is don't have too many similar articles on your own site. By that I mean, don't have one article titled, Skin protection from the sun, and another article titled, Skin protection from sun and another, Sun skin protection. Doing that dilutes your site and doesn't provide a good experience for users.

    2) Should the web page be rewriiten to incorporate derivative keywords from the Title keyword to provide better relevancy
Yes, but don't feel obligated to get every related keyword possible into the text. Use the title keyword in the article at least once, and add in two or three related keywords, if they sound natural within the article.

    3) Can I write articles on any topic related (broad or narrow) to the skin protection industry and have the backlinks from the articles + the use of Web 2.0 to provide/build up the relevancy of the page for google even though the linked keyword phrase in the article is not mentioned on the web page
Off your site, you can article market about any topic. For example you could guest post on another site, write an article about, drag racing, and in the author bio field, have something to the effect of, This was a guest post by Nige, who normally writes about skin protection for the skinprotectionblog[dot]com. Skin protection would be the anchor in your link back.

    4) Add/Create a blog and create posts with relevant derivative/thematic keywords
You could do that too, but again, don't create a bunch of very similar articles on your own site.

    Hope that helps,
    Chris

    Keyword Relevancy

Keyword relevancy is actually more critical than density in many cases. There as many answers as there are products to be sold. This is a measure of those visitors who are truly looking for your products and/or services. Those keywords that have a combination of high popularity and relevancy are sorted in descending order to reveal which keywords are best. This is an important part of search engine optimization.
