A Question Regarding Video and RSS...

basically, a have some questions for tim...

tim, i am presently going thru your video and rss module. when talking about ways of making the process easier, you talk about tubemogul and mention traffic geyser.

i know from once flirting with traffic geyser that they also incorporate the power of rss feeds with the whole video syndication process.

question: is the process you outline in the vid and rss module doing the same thing??? i mean, why do it manually if TG would do the same thing?? so basically, how familiar are you with TG?? i am happy to do it your way, if it's putting my vid marketing on even more *steroids*...

    please advise.

secondly, i want to start with animoto pro.

so, i make a video, upload it to my youtube account and it's on youtube.

then, i upload the same video to traffic geyser, ready for syndication to youtube (again) and the other big sites...

question: what happens to my first video submission that i submitted to youtube from animoto?? does it get overwritten? is that then spam?? or do i simply change the file extension and/or market to different keywords??

would love to know your take here.

    cheers,

    phil

    Hi Phil,

The last time I used TG (which was quite a while back), it didn't really handle RSS that well at all, it was very basic. The RSS module is far more advanced. Check your email for something ground shaking I've found that help your videos to rank on YOUR OWN PAGE as well as youtube, etc. I'm putting together the finishing touches to it over the weekend.

Regarding animoto pro, any time you upload to youtube it will always be a new video you can't "replace" an existing video on youtube (I wish there were such a feature). So essentially if you do as you indicate you will have 2 copies of the youtube video up.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

thanks so much for your responses!! this helps big time.

so the question is: would you still use TG?? i mean, it still is an awesome distribution tool that puts ones work all over the video sites...or would you think it's better to just use the RSS module and just use tubemogul??

i cannot help thinking i still wanna go with TG, somehow (implementing your strategies of course).

    you rock.

    many thanks,

    phil

I think from memory TG only allowed you to enter a few titles, it did not really have spun titles, descriptions, etc. Is that right?

I like the fact that it did create new versions of your videos in other formats, etc and submit them a week later, etc. It has some good features for sure. What I am saying is there is nothing fundamentally wrong with using TG and using it with our strategies would be a smart way to be a little different to many other people out there and get content out faster.

Thanks for the kind words, and let me know if you need more info.

    Cheers

    tim.

i just looked at your offer for video bot. in your experience, which is more useful in terms of efficiency:

    1. TG, because it *creates* new versions of each video via file formats (as you described above) or

    2. videobot because it actually distributes to a greater number of sites???

in asking this, i notice that videobot spins titles and descriptions when submitting videos. is this the same as what TG does via file formats??? or with videobot do i actually go and have to make another video??

the staggered weekly delivery via TG, as you describe, would have to be a winner??!!

so basically, which app do you think would get me to page one faster (or more *comprehensively*)??? i am new to this, so i apologise.

    cheers,

    phil

all these questions, i know, but i just want to spend my money correctly :-)

    Hi there,

TG changing file formats is probably not going to be that helpful to other sites. It's more to help you submitting duplicate videos to the same site (which I would not normally recommend). Video sites re-render the video that you upload to their own formats anyway so once they are uploaded effectively the same video submitted to multiple sites is a unique video because it has that sites own unique encoding.

Personally I think you need some basic spinning. Having identical titles, descriptions, etc is a dead giveaway in my books. I know TG allows you to have 4-5 titles but that means 4-5 titles max will be used, not the same as spinning.

TG is likely to be faster to use as all vids are uploaded from their server direct to the video site whereas videobot of course uploads direct from your computer.

I would probably recommend videobot and sticking to the main video sites (youtube of course) and then focusing on building links to those videos will help you.

    Regards

    Tim
