    Youtube Accounts

    Hi Tim,

Just a quick query about Youtube accounts.

I have heard that Youtube don't like you having multiple accounts with them and that some people are having all their accounts closed down and being banned. A colleague of mine had all his accounts closed and said he'd wished he'd done everything on one because now he's not allowed on YT.

How does this fit in with what you teach regarding having a username that incorporates your keyword search term? I'm assuming that if you're going after different keywords, or even varying markets/niches, that you'd need more than one account to accommodate for this.

Would appreciate it if you could tell me how you are getting around this if indeed it is an issue with YT.

    Many thanks
    Lorraine

    Hi Lorraine,

That's an interesting one. Firstly I have to say I've never had a youtube account canceled for any reason. It would likely depend on how you are doing this.

For example if you opened 20 accounts at the same time and post the same video into each account that would be spam and easily traceable and I would expect to have my account(s) deleted.

If you upload an identical video it leaves a footprint and can easily be found by youtube if they decided it.

Also when creating accounts if you did so under the same IP address on the same day... Another footprint.

I'd suspect generally creating a few accounts would not raise any suspicions, but opening a pile would.

The fact that your collegue had ALL his accounts closed tells me they found them all and linked them together using a method like this.

Really I think it's still a good process to have multiple accounts but make sure the videos are unique and you are really adding value. Adjust titles and descriptions, etc as well, and mix it up.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers
