Is it wise to create and submit RSS feeds from published articles in directories

    Hi,

Like some other readers more I read more confused I get by this whole RSS business. I understand its value though. I hope you can help me with the question below.

I would like to create and submit RSS feeds from individual articles I published in EzineArticles. I am hoping to boost the readership (possibly).

Is this wise? Is this doable? If it is a possibility would I just add the title of the article to the title of the RSS feed or should I change/spin it?

I am sorry if this is a naive question, but I have been struggling with it for some time.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Dita

Ezinearticles.com provides a feed from your author profile. You could submit this feed to the various aggregators manually and that will provide some backlinking to your articles. Go to any article of yours, click on the author name under the article title to be taken to a page with all your articles. Then look in the browser bar and you should see the rss symbol. Click on that to get to the feed URL. Then submit that to the aggregators.

Alternatively if you have Web Traffic Genius you could submit the feed via the standalone version of WTG, or alternatively use the URLs of your individual articles as "Extra Feeds" in WTG.

Actually if you enter the ezine author feed url into the "Extra Feeds" section in WTG it will break up your feed into different articles and those would be added at random to your other posts.

If you are going to go the standalone route just be aware that the new standalone version is not ready yet, but will be soon. It's in beta testing now. The current version of the standalone version does not have the functionality to split your feed url into "Extra Feeds"

Hope that helps. If it's too confusing just do what I said in the first paragraph

    thank you for your answer.

Not sure that I understand how the 1st option would work for individual articles. I did find a couple of sites that allowed me to make feeds and I submitted those to a few RSS sites. As far as WTG is concerned, I have not yet purchased it because I still have to ask a few questions. I will do that after Xmas.

    Happy Holidays

If you take a look at the actual author feed from ezinearticles you will see that the feed contains links to a bunch of (if not all) your articles, and it will automatically update every time you add one. So by sumbitting this feed, you will be getting links back to each individual article.
