    rss aggregator accounts

    Hi All,

I'm a web designer but just getting into the marketing aspect, so color me a complete idiot about anything RSS-related.

I'm using Web Traffic Genius on a site I own, and I set up accounts at several places such as feedagg.com and feedage.com. Now I want to use WTG for a new website I just started (an affiliate site), and I also want to use it on some of my client's sites. All these websites are for different businesses and completely unrelated.

This may be a real idiot question, but what I want to know is, can I (should I) use the accounts I already have with feedagg and feedage for all of these sites? Or, for each website on which I'm using WTG, do I need to set up a new, separate account with feedagg, feedage, etc.?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I can answer questions about basic web design.

    Thanks!
    Susan

    Hi Susan,

Generally speaking I'd recommend a new set of accounts for the following reasons.

    1. Only takes a short once off effort to do.

    2. Spreads your risk, in case an account is deleted you don't lose all posts for all websites.

    3. The most posts you make to a single account(s) the great the risk it could be deleted by an rss aggregator, so this lessens the risk of that happening.

    4. If in the future a customer site posts unsavoury or content you do not want to be associated with, all your rss feeds on those sites are associated with those posts.

This forum will work really well if everyone can help everyone else out in their area of expertise, I saw your post in the web design area Thanks

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

    Tim,

Thanks so much for the explanation. I'm really not a total IM idiot, but RSS confuses me - I think I have a mental block there! But all you said makes perfect sense. I get it. Thanks!

    Best,
    Susan
