How much to pay per click?

Just wondering what you think is a good amount to pay for a click on adwords, facebook etc. I usually put it somewhere between 10-20 pence per click. Is it true that the higher your bid the more clicks your ad will get?

    Hiya cab322003,

It's a lot more complicated than that generally

The amount you pay is dependent on a range of factors including your quality score (how google rates your ad and landing page), competition, etc.

Generally the more you pay the higher up on the page you ad appears but it's not as simple as that. Your CTR (click through rate) will directly effect what you pay.

Remember that usually you are not trying to buy clicks (mostly) you are trying to buy profits so focus on "buying" keywords first and foremost.

    Good luck!

    Cheers

Google has some good videos on PPC costs. Go to their adwords section and search them out.

You could always reverse engineer what other advertisers are paying for their keywords.

Ofcourse, there's always the google keyword tool but Keywordspy.com and spyfu.com are my favourite ones.
