    A few PPC questions..

I tried pay per click ads on facebook a while ago when I was trying to market someone elses product. I noticed that I was getting tiny amount of clicks of the impressions - the ratio was about 130,000:100

Maybe that's normal but I was wondering now I have an opt-in page is it worth mentioning in the ad that what I'm offering is free? Also if you guys have any other tips for optimizing ppc ads for higher click rates I'd love to know.

    Sorry cab missed this one.

Haven't bothered with facebook PPC at this stage. Did you do any further testing? Make any progress?

Ive not used facebook PPC either.

As far as click through goes, being as targeted as possible with your add and keywords obvs helps and I would imagine that in most cases saying what you are offering is free would increase the CTR.

    Did you test this?

    Hey Cab,

Mentioning the word FREE can definitely help your conversions. I actually dabbled with facebook ads last year, to test the waters.

Dunno if you've heard of Frank Kern? I used one of his "no bs methods" (What the product is about, How it will help you , What you need to do to get it) and actually managed to
get 2 out of 5 signups to take me up on an offer.

I never thought it would work, but if there's one thing i've learnt and burnt into my cortex, is that people are really perceptive when you provide them with value that can help em out to achieve solutions to whatever problems they need solved.

So if you combine a really valuable ebook with the kern no bs approach, you've got a potential winner.

I actually wanted to try this "formula" out in the gaming niche .. specifically preorders for upcoming summer hits. Just for kicks

    Cheers
    Alex

I have never had luck with PPC, but I am sure it has to do with my ignorance.

Is there some information that you can give me (title of a book, website, etc.) where I can research more about Frank Kern?

    Thanks.

Hi and welcome to our forum ftyre76.

Just a reminder about our policy of no promotions / links in your posts or in your signature block until you reach at least 20 posts.

This is to encourage the sharing of knowledge and helping others.

I have removed the 2 links from your signature block for now.

Regarding your question about Frank Kern, sorry I can't help you on that one.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

I've only ever tried PPC with affiliate products and it's not great. There is a reason for this - and it's simple economics. Google has made the pricing so transparent that it's a very efficient market in economics terms. The result of this is the people bid up to the marginal profit and at that stage to only party that wins is Google. Testing and testing is good but it goes hand in hand with more money. SEO takes longer but for me has been more profitable in the long run.

Facebook ads were worse for me when I tried it - but that may be related to the products and the approach.
