    Adding trailing words to domains

    Hi Guys,

As we all know having the keyword in the domain is rule #1 in the seo arena.

However, i was just thinking of starting my own branding .. sort of lke Frank Kern's "Control" products.

So my question is this ..

I've got some bonuses which i would like to add to reviews of products ..

e.g. AlaviInfoProducts.Com/PRODUCTX-REVIEWED (thinking of driving only via web 2.0 traffic as an experiment).

What "seo implications" would having wordpress blog on each subdomain have? Any pointers would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi Alex,

I'll presume you're not talking about a sub domain here, as a subdomain would be in a style like this

    PRODUCTX-REVIEWED.AlaviInfoProducts.Com

Creating a subdirectory/folder for each product though like your example is a good idea generally. There is a lot of evidence to support that having keywords in the URL helps you rank better, and I totally adhere to this and recommend it highly.

Ideally you could look at a .com, .net, or .org domain with an exact match for the keyword, but your approach is good as well because the entire object of the exercise is to get those keywords in the url somehow.

This could of course, be a wordpress blog, and you could just publish a new post for each product. From a purely ranking perspective it's a good approach I think.

Remember that ranking is mostly related to off page SEO factors more than on page seo (which this is) so the focus should be on getting links with your keyword phrases in anchor text from authority sites which is going to give you your best "bang for bucks".

    Hope this helps.

    Regards
