    Using Microsft AdCenter?

Who's using Microsoft's AdCenter (Bing's pay per click)?

You can easily import your Google and Yahoo! campaigns to Bing via adCenter.

I am sure many forum members would be interested to hear your experiences.

    A silly snippet of trivia below;

When Microsoft was looking for a new name for it's search engine, it wanted something short that couldn't be misspelled.

Microsoft chief marketing strategist David Webster says he first thought "Bang" would be the answer.

It almost fitted all their criteria, except when used as a verb. Most people don't want to say they "banged Obama's dog" when they look for Bo Obama on the Internet.*

So, David and Microsoft went with Bing instead, which hit many of the same notes without the gross verb usage. David believes, Bing is "the sound of found."

Sorry to go off on a tangent there

So, please let us all hear about your experiences, questions, or comments about the Microsoft Adcenter.

    Anthony

I set up a bing ppc campaign yesterday. I set up an adwords campaign at the same time. The results:

    Adwords: 150,000 impressions/131 clicks
    Bing: 14 impresssions/1 click

I used all the same keyword phrases so obviously bing isn't great for PPC but at least I know I won't go over my budget with them lol

I did a "test" PPC campaign about 5-6 months ago just to prove to Anthony I can do PPC as well!

For context, remember I lost a package with PPC when I first started out.

Anyway, the campaign I started with was XBox 360 red rings of death (google it). I made 100+ sales on that with adwords using image ads but the conversions died off, so I went into nintendo WII mod chips.

I made a heap of quick sales in adwords (30 in one day at one point with clicks costing me about 7 or 8 cents) before google shut me down. They mentioned mod chip ads are not within their terms of service. Ooops! Hefty profits....

So I put the ads on MSN/Bing and Yahoo. I made regular sales with Yahoo and the odd sale with MSN/Bing. The thing with MSN/Bing though the conversions were crazy high, easily 50% + !!

The trouble was I had the same problem as you, low traffic.

Now I don't know the market you are in, but I would not be surprised to see this happen for you (low traffic but high conversions) in MSN/Bing.

Now if only there was high traffic. It makes sense to me (in theory) to use MSN/Bing since they are the default search engines on new computers running vista, windows 7, xp, etc. And a lot of "not so computer savvy" people would likely not change over to Google, but just type their search in what search box their computer happens to show.

This is more interesting now that the merger of MSN/Bing and Yahoo is happening. I think Google may need to get off their butts with adwords otherwise they might be in trouble. Personally I think it's not outside the realms of possiblilty to say MSN/BING + Yahoo = Google. So the combining of these two services might be a decent competitor to Google.

Good luck with it, and let us know how you get on.

And Anthony am I good with PPC Now? lol

    Cheers
