    Hi Tim
I posted this as a PM on Saturday past but didn't get a reply. If this isnt the right place to post please let me know and I'll re post, thanks

    Hi Tim
I've given installation my best shot, but have a few problems I cant sort. Is there any chance someone could take a look at my set and hopefully see something I cant

My first install is on a very new general autoblog so hard to match aggregator categories

    The difficulties I'm experiencing are:
1.that my captcha using aggregators arent pulling from the captcha site, no captchas being used (deathbycaptcha).
    2. the email address ive given isn't receiving the logs either part or full logs.
    3. my success rate from posting to aggregators isnt great but thats prob because i'm not matching categories that well given the very general nature of my blog?

To be honest my head is fried ive taken some time out but still cant get it
    thanks, Mel

ps let me know if you (or someone) can and i'll send over logins etc thanks

Hello Tim i reposted my message in full on the web traffic genius forum as it was on the general forum only. the posting title is "cron job not executing " thanks and i hope we can get this going soon Lawrence
  5. I am replying regularly to posts on the forum (as are other moderators), if you do not have an answer put the link here and I'll post a reply. I am not aware of any posts not getting responded to. Do you mean you are getting no replies at all, or that replies are not as timely as you would like them to be?

Trust me we are working as quickly as we can. Your issue is not something most people are experiencing so it's a likely configuration issue somewhere, but yes absolutely you will get a reply.

    Cheers

Hi Tim I can appreciate that a tech help desk would be way too much ask and to handle when so many questions are similair
in nature. However posting an issue and not getting any feed back leaves to frustration and still being no further forward, just waiting.

I really like this software and have applied much time and effort getting it all set up to proving to myself that it works. before coming to you here
i have spent 2 days on and of with hostgator tech guys about getting the cron job to work,it is executing but not processing the data ?
i need to get past this brick wall but i dont want to post it here,

please get back to me.. a similair question to mine was listed a few days ago and no replies eitherthat is why i am writing to you here.

    thanks

    Lawrence

    Hi Tim,

I will also like to know if there is a way to schedule existing pages for posting using cron jobs instead of manually posting them one at a time. This will be helpful for those of us who use wordpress as a content management system and therefore have lots of existing content pages.

It appears the cron feature only applies to existing posts or perhaps I am not getting it. Is there any workaround? since individually posting pages can appear like spam to aggregators.

Finally, I will like to know if extra feeds get submitted with existing posts when crons are executed or do they only go out with new posts?

    Thank you.

    Hi Tim,

I get the following error messages:

Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: Invalid curl configuration option in /home/howto4r/public_html/wp-content/plugins/web-traffic-genius-pro/curl_functions.php on line 225
(my observation: the warning showed up whilst managing aggregators)

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/howto4r/public_html/wp-content/plugins/web-traffic-genius-pro/process_submit.php on line 157
(my observation: the second warning showed up after I tried to post an existing blog page)

    Look forward to your reply.

    Thanks.

    Iman
  9. Marcus,

Can you please questions like this in the regular forum? Makes it easier for others to find the answers.

Are you keeping up with latest patches for wordpress? And if you are running a dedicated server they should keep you up to date with patches, etc.

Provided you do that and use secure passwords (letters and numbers and symbols) its making it much harder to get hacked.

I personally would not bother with a plugin mostly if you are careful it's unnecessary.

    Regards

    Tim

    Cheers Tim,

Tim . What is your take on WP security?

I have been hacked a few times, so I've invested in a plugin called secure live, which is supposed to give me
some sort of hacker protection. I am running a malware scan, and it is bombarding me with information.

In all honesty, I am getting to the end of reason when it comes to WP. I am not a techie.
I've had a site up 3 days, I am a security conscious maniac, and yet I am getting told I have these multiple threats...

    Cheers
    Marcus
