The term ‘Paid SEO’ is a misnomer. Whatever you do to improve your rankings on search engines organically is SEO. There are paid forms improving your search rankings too, of which PPC is one.

I think there is no term which looks like paid SEO, paid SEO in nothing that's why the process of SEO known as the organic techniques. But there are many people which are not aware about the new updated of the SEO and still buying back links for their websites and may they calling this as the Paid SEO but if you really believe there is no term for Paid SEO. PPC is completely different concept which comes under the search engine marketing not into the search engine optimization.
