hi guys im an amteour in seo world and already start promoting my website
my question is --how can i promote my website on a multiple keywords ?--more than 20
do i need to build more pages ?
Do i need to keep doing a back links with text
like example i want 3-4 major keywords in NYC new york:

We cover these questions and show you how to get started but definitely YES, you need to build more content and pages (linked correctly) for all the keywords you are targeting.

Through a large amount of work.

I personally wouldnt try and get my homepage as the top result for the various keywords.

If I really wanted one site to dominate multiple keywords (hopefully related ones) I would structure the entire site around being a trap to attract Google to it as a trusted resource for information on the topic in question.

Then I would do a mix of black and white hat SEO on various sections of the site to make them rank for various keywords I was going after.

I would choose my most valuable keyword as the target for the mainpage.

You can get any page within your site to rank for any keyword you want if you write your content and build your links the right way. If this were not true, wikipedia and about.com wouldn't be strong sites. Let's look at your keywords:

nyc carpet cleaning"
"carpet cleaning nyc"
upholstery cleaning nyc"
"nyc upholstery cleaning

Here, pick the keyword with the most value or the most traffic and use that as the title. Now as you write the article, you'll want to work as many of those keywords into the body. Don't stuff your article you want it to sound natural. Any keywords that can't be used naturally in the article, use those as tags. You may find that you have too many keywords. In that case, write a couple of articles. Now when you go and build your backlinks, use the high traffic(highest value) keyword as the anchor text 50-75% of the time and the rest of the time rotate the anchors using those other keywords. Lather rinse and repeat and soon you'll be ranking well for all of those keywords and a ton of long tails you never saw coming.
