Google Search - Why Is The Ranking Dofferent Using Google.com vs gl=us - Confuse!!

I live in Malaysia and have a website www.groomsspecheshelp.com.
    With the keyword "grooms speeches":

    1) No 1 with google.com.my (this is the Google Malaysia page) - understandable since this is a local Malaysia search.
    2) No 6 with google.com. Also if I use traffic travis / Serp Attack, the top 10 is the same as google.com. Happy me!!
    3) When I use google.com or google.com.my - and when the results are shown, I add &gl=us at the end of the URL (taught by some guru to see your ranking in USA), my site is way down in 100+.

My question is - If my site is mainly for USA buyers and that includes my keyword research, should I go with (2) or (3)?

Is the &gl=us thing for real or do I just rely on google.com for my ranking?

Can a member of this forum who resides in the USA try out and let me know which ranking should I be looking at......(2) or (3).

    Thanks

    Hiya Doug,

Can I ask you a question? Since you're running analytics, quantcast, and some other tracking scripts, what data do they show? The data you get there is more important than your ranking stats. Also, how old is the site?

    Let me know,
    Chris

I do not run other tracking scripts. Maybe you should advise me what scripts and where to look. As mentioned I use Traffic Travis and Serp Attack. Both seems to pull the data from Google.com.
The site I have is more than 1 year old.

    Hiya Doug,

There isn't really such a thing as accurate or globally stable rankings. Rankings are really best used to compare your site against itself. For example, If you changed a bunch of page titles and two weeks later, your rankings went down, then you know the changes you made, weren't good and so you'd change the titles back or to something else and wait and see again.

When I said tracking scripts, if this is your site, Grooms Speeches - Tips To A Memorable Speech then I see you are using google analytics, add to any, quantcast and wordpress stats. What is your google analytics showing?
