Exit Pop Ups

Does having an exit pop over/ pop up have a negative effect on how google ranks your site in the SERPS? I'd like to use an exit script as I keep hearing how well they can help a products conversion, but not sure about google's position on it.

Hi mlittles,

We use exit scripts here and there and have not found there to be any glaring issues as far as ranking goes with Google.

I think the page the exit script goes to needs to provide some decent content where possible and not be a pushy sales page though.

One of Google's main concerns is pages that provide the users with a negative experience....
