hello Sopretty,

I agree to the answers listed above and will try to add one more point. You have to make a new post every week if not every day. Then ping your post using ping services there are lots of ping services out there when you search on google or yahoo. By doing so you are notifying other blogs that you have a new post and they will track it back and start to crawl your post for index. hope that helps...

Smile How to get indexed

As well as the information in the other replies:

Don't forget to submit to search engines every month, not just google.
Twitter very good.
Check your site is Search Engine Optimised
And keep writing good content and posting it.
Content needs to be relevant to the site theme, just as important as keywords.

Great FREE information here if you want it

@Jenki, I have to disagree on submitting your sites to google or other search engines. I think you'll find if you test it, sites submitted to the search engines will take longer to index.

@sopretty,
Find an authoritative high PR site. Then ask them to link to your site. But you don't put their link on your site.

It sounds difficult~
It's not that hard, write one article for Ezine and one article for another high PR article directory and make sure you get the right links in your resource box. Also understand that PR applies to pages so your article itself won't have any PR but sites with high PR homepages get spidered a lot and won't take them too long to find the link.

Hope that helps,
Chris

I had my site visited by googlebot 2 days ok, but the site still isn't indexed.

Is this a cause for concern?

It's kind of an interesting game trying to get a top spot in Google. Here are a couple of ideas.

1. Have your domain name Keyword targeted.
2. Name your site using a targeted keyword.
3. If using articles then Have the article title Keyword targeted and tagged with
Article Title

4. Use tags on sub-headings.
Sub-Title

5. Sprinkle your targeted KW throughout your article.
6. Use other KWs that are related to your targeted KW.
7. Use a couple of internal links in your article. (Link to your home page and other pages on your site.)
8. Check out a couple of article re-writers that focus on LSI content. (Latent Semantic Indexing) I have two that I use.

It sounds complicated but it's not really that difficult.

You might also have an (Nofollow) anchor text link to an authority site (Not an affiliate site) about your subject. ie: I have a blog dealing with ruptured brain aneurysms so I have a link or two going to high profile medical sites. It adds a bit of authority that Google seems to like.

This should help a bit

In addition to the other ideas -

Have quality stuff on your site so people don't just bounce off...

Back-links. With focused and relative anchor text in the BLs. Lots of 'em...

Posting helpful, not spammy, comments in forums (where you can put your site and anchor text in your signature) will make sure those comments & BLs stay there.

Bookmarking - there is a 'like' button on your site, right? Suggest people click it... Bookmarking it yourself helps, too.
(N.B.: some social book marking services apply a 'karma' factor to your votes - it helps to promote other people's properties more often than your).

This strategy works for me, submitting your blog to social bookmarking sites. There are plenty of social bookmarking sites like, Digg.com, Stumbleupon.com, Delicious.com, Furl.com, Mixx.com and Twitter.com. That will increase your blog traffic and display your site pages in other small search engines.
