Tim - you have experience as an ISP is there a solution? Maybe an Aussie ISP or do I buy a US / AU IP for use in the Phillipines or can it be done using VPN techniques?
I would like to be able to use Squidoo.

Yes this is an issue, I suggest you use a proxy server (or get them to).

    A few online ones are

    zend2.com
    hidemyass.com

But be careful with these because the nature of a proxy server is ALL your info (usernames, passwords, etc) go through their servers first, so technically you could be giving away all your confidential info. The other thing you can do is find a proxy service that gives you proxy servers you can use daily. Then give your workers access to that.

Thats what I do. You could try VPN, but they would have to connect to your site most likely.

    Cheers

    Tim

I have been working through using an outsourcer to not only speed up things as in niche Minnie site implementation but also as as element of focus to move forward and get knowledge implemented.

Just of late John reese came out with all guns blazzing touting the $2 an hour worker outsourcing " secrets" you can have by crossing his palm with gold.

As much as I understand the ethos of getting a worker that is not expensive but not at a price of what could be seen as being exploited.

Just wanted to chime in here. I joined John's site about three or four months ago. Since then I have been through quite a few different people. It really does take time to find the keepers. There are many resources available though and Criagslist in the Philippines is another great free resource to find workers.

I am willing to let you guys use sub contract my workers at cost (you can pay them directly) if anyone is having a hard time finding good people.

    Good comments Russell.

I think you want to look after your staff, they are your most important resources. We start with a base rate and once they start performing well regularly increase the rate (as they start achieving more, etc).

You should pay what you think is fair in my opinion and not what some guru tells you to pay. What's that saying? Pay peanuts, get monkeys. Apologies if I butchered that. In other words if you are always looking to "screw down" people to the lowest dollar you won't get access to the best people, or if you do then they will eventually leave.

Look after your staff, they will reward you with their honesty, loyalty and hard work.

    Cheers

At $97 per month, is there a guamtee? Can you cancel? For example, lets say you hire somebody, they start work, two months later, you are happy with your workers, you don't need the training thats offered, can you just quit?

I just posted a question about canceling the monthly program from John Jonas, but I forgot a more important question: I only need someone part time at first. at 20 hours per week average, we are talking about $160 per month, plus the $97, that adds up to almost $300 a month. Seems steep for a part time employee. What exactly am getting for $97 besides training and access to a pool of candidates? Isn't there a trial period?

Of course you can cancel You can quit anytime. Heck you can even refund if you are not happy.

You may not need to stay in month after month. The biggest benefit of the site is all the training that is included. So if your worker has no article marketing experience you have a module there to give them about it. You can pay a fee once and get all access forever and pay no monthly fee if you prefer, or pay a monthly and each month you get to choose a different type of training. For example adwords is another module.

I would suggest you sign up and try it out and if unhappy ask for a refund. If you can afford it, choose the option to buy the "entire package" as a once off cost so you do not have to pay monthly. So it's a bigger cost initially but no future payments.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Regards

    Tim

I read the last question on this thread about the $97 fee, and cancellation, and thought I'd chime in with my views. I agree with Tim.

First of all, yes of course you can cancel.
What do you get for your fee? Here's a list of what you get as far as I remember it all.
    • Training modules for your employees
    • A bunch of good training for you (bonus stuff)
    • Project management software (hosted in the cloud)
    • Access to OnlineJobs.ph
    • Actual ability to email Dan (John's partner) and get a real reply

I also wanted to address the "mindset". Is it possible at all that you are letting fear or over-analysis get in the way of just getting stuff done?

When I decided to pull the trigger on outsourcing in a real way, I heard about the upgrade package Tim referred to. It's the "Pro Outsourcer" plan. $697 (offered as an upsell after you sign up for the monthly). Seriously - just take that. It's a great deal. It means that you pay essentially 7 months up front and get perpetual access to everything. That means online jobs.ph forever. That's useful!

At the end of the day if you can afford $100 you should absolutely try this out. What's the downside?
