Is Google PageRank Checker - Check Google page rank of any web pages reliable because according to it, we have a PR 2.

Is that even possible for a domain and site that is only 5 months old ??

It appears to be accurate. I tested it with our domain takeoverpageone.com and it correctly reported a page rank of 5.

In answer to your other question, is it possible for a new domain, yes !
